Ducati has been in business since 1926, when it was founded to manufacturer radio parts and other electronics. After World War II the company started creating motorized bicycles. Soon after, the brand began creating real, full sized motorcycles. By the 1960s, the Ducati brand gained worldwide recognition for its performance motorcycles, which included the fastest 250 cc motorcycle in the world: the Ducati Mach 1.
By the 1970s, Ducati began making V-twin powered motorcycles, and the 80s brought the distinctive, multi-valve, liquid cooled, Desmoquattro engine. In the 1990s, Ducati introduced the Monster, the first naked bike, with its iconic space frame construction.
